But now, they can complete training on climate change and carbon literacy rates.
The body representing the pharmacist said they have little time to complete existing training requirements.
Wales has introduced training on additional wake-up topics as part of a “Quality and Safety Plan” consistent with the Welsh government’s net zero Welsh ambitions.
Chemists are expected to ensure training is conducted by the end of next month to meet the goals set by the Cardiff administration.
Welsh Community Pharmacy has issued guidance to pharmacists urging them “Providing an overview of climate change and sustainability in Wales/UK and the world”.
They must, too “Assessing the health impact of climate change” and “Exploring good practices for sustainability as global citizens”.
“Pharmaciation contractors can arrange staff to access any training resources that meet at least the learning goals”, the Welsh Community Pharmacy added.
Pharmacies can claim £642 from the cash-strapped Welsh NHS to cover course fees.
Among the listed course modules are The carbon literacy of health care aims to promote “a deep understanding of the key links between climate change and health care”.
The course description states:
'Discover how climate change makes our patients' health hazards and explores the NHS' significant progress in leading allegations against greenhouse gas emissions.
“Learn how to contribute and play your part in shaping low-carbon NHS, which provides excellent care when maintaining the health of future generations. ''
The Welsh government’s push for green policy is a hall group representing pharmacists across the UK, requiring staff to have more time to train to become “safety practitioners”.

According to a 2020 survey by Pharmaceuticals, half of pharmacists said they never had “protected study time.”
This is because the Welsh government has provided £775,000 in taxpayer cash to the gender-equal climate change project in Central Africa and Uganda.
The fund was awarded the Welsh climate change charity scale until last March.
The charity says:
“Thanks to the Welsh Government's funding, the scale of Wales works with our local partners, Elgon Mount Elgon Tree Rawing Enterprise (Metge) already has Set up this new gender equality project as part of the Mbale Tree program.
“Women and other marginalized groups such as people with disabilities and youth in Lukuma Village Receive training in sustainable land management, agroforestry, conservation and gender mainstream. '
