WASHINGTON, D.C., February 12 – The constructive Tomorrow Commission, along with 10 other “Stop Sea Wind” organizations and more than 50 individuals from the beach community, united to urge the office’s interior director Douglas Burgum today He immediately stopped everyone in construction projects that planned to move forward despite President Trump's executive orders halting offshore winds.
CFACT President Craig Rucker noted: “Trump EO has almost put about 22 projects in stagnation, but about 9 or so sites are still putting pedals on metal trying to go on them I looked at their construction work before completing my review. For our environment, we need to make sure that this doesn’t happen.”
President Trump released a suspended offshore wind when he took office on January 20, “temporarily preventing any area in the OC from considering any new or updated wind energy leases to generate electricity or any other such use, thereby the source of The use of self-wind. It also called on the Ministry of the Interior to “conduct a comprehensive review of the ecological, economic and environmental necessity of termination or modification of any existing wind energy leases”.
“While this is a huge development, and I’m sure the president believes it will hinder ongoing construction, some companies like Dominion Energy in Virginia don’t give any respect and keeps tilling ahead of time, just like Never issued. That's why we need DOI to go further and pull existing revenue licenses (called Power of Attorney (LOAS)) to prevent them from continuing to “clink” in our oceans,” Rucker Point out.
The accompanying joint letter was signed by many citizens, environment and national organizations involved in opposing the offshore winds, including the Constructive Commission of Tomorrow (CFACT), defending our beaches NJ, NJ, Heartland Institute, Caesar Rodney Institute, Caesar Rodney Institute, Green Ocean, Response Alliance, etc.
