Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it began implementing Trump's executive order to “end radial and wasteful government DEI programs and favor”. [emphasis, links added]
The agency will appoint 171 employees and the Office of Environmental Justice during the leave.
The Washington Post reported that the EPA intends to close the Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights. The Trump appointees of the Justice Department announced that they will reorganize the Justice Department's Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
Shortly after confirmation, Attorney General Pam Bondi canceled any “memorandum, guidance or similar directive” to implement the previous administration’s “environmental justice” agenda.
“go ahead, [DOJ] Bondy pointed out.
Why is this important?
“Environmental Justice” refers to the toxic brew of key racial theories and climate alerts.
According to critical race theory, the United States is institutionally racist, opposing blacks and other ethnic minorities, and favoring whites. According to climate shock, the combustion of fossil fuels will bring about a decisive battle.
EPA defines “environmental justice” as ensuring that Americans “completely protect Americans from disproportionate and adverse human health and environmental impacts (including risks) and hazards, including Climate changecumulative impact of environmental and other burdens, and Legacy of racism or other structural or systemic barriers” (added italics).
Trump entered the office, promising to release U.S. energy and reverse the Biden administration's promotion of critical race theory and its application in the “diversity, equity, and inclusion” movement.
This diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) campaign aims to promote some ethnic minorities, rejecting color blind approaches that focus on performance or competence.
When President George HW Bush established the EPA’s Office of Environmental Equity (the office where President Bill Clinton later renamed the Office of Environmental Justice) –President Joe Biden has gone beyond his mission to direct all the administration’s efforts on DEI, restrictions on fossil fuels, and promoting reliable forms of energy such as wind and solar.
In the process, Biden followed the demands of radical groups, many of whom formed and recommended his administration.
As I pointed out in my book, “Woketopus: Dark Money Cabal manipulates the federal government”, Biden uses climate alarms to take key leadership positions:
When Trump opposed the EPA’s Environmental Justice Office, the NRDC issued a statement denouncing the move as a “stigma.” Who is the NRDC invited to issue a statement? In addition to Matthew Tejada, who directed the Office of Environmental Justice from 2013 to 2022.
“Trump EPA has abandoned the communities in our country that need help the most,” Tejada said. “Closening the Environmental Justice Office will mean more toxic pollutants, dangerous air and Unsafe water.”
Of course, this conclusion relies on assumptions of critical racial theory and climate alerts.
If the United States is not institutional racism, it is a country with civil rights laws that protect citizens of all races from discrimination, The EPA does not need an “Environmental Justice” office to combat pollution from Americans of a specific skin color.
If the forecasts of climate disasters are exaggerated and based on false assumptions that have exaggerated the actual death toll of the past century has dropped by 99%, then the EPA may not need to invest additional funds in the Office of Environmental Justice.
If fossil fuels become cleaner, then EPA should focus on specific air quality issues rather than predictions of global climate doom.
This seems to be at least part of the reasoning behind the EPA reorganization.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, the EPA will focus on our core mission of protecting human health and the environment while providing power to the great American comeback.” EPA administrator Lee Zeldin said in a statement Tuesday. “The last government used DEI and environmental justice to raise the focus of ideology, allocating billions of dollars to organizations in the name of climate equity. This is now over.”
“We will be a good steward of taxes and do everything we can to provide clean air, land and water for every American regardless of race, religion, background and creed He added.
Although pollution affects Americans in different ways, the EPA does not have to indulge in critical racial theory and climate shockism in order to effectively deal with the real threats facing Americans.
Instead of targeting so-called institutional racism and disasters caused by fossil fuels, the EPA should focus on its practical mission: concrete examples of protecting Americans from pollution and environmental harm.
Of course, these fools’ concerns don’t require much federal funding and staff, which may explain the real reason for the left’s moves.
