Is climate dishonesty unacceptable to prevent climate skeptics from society?
Why the “I Am I” campaign should warn those about climate change
Author: Philippa Nuttall
In his latest book, writer and scholar Mike Berners-Lee calls for an “atmosphere of truth” from business, politicians and the media
Clear at a glance
- Writer and academic Mike Mike Berners-Lee believes that dishonest about climate change and other challenges facing the world is a lack of progress in reducing emissions and addressing broader issues such as pollution and natural losses
- He insists that change is possible, but calls on everyone to be more authentic and calls on the media, business and policy makers in a dishonest way
- He said
Mike Berners-Lee told me: “Decades ago, many celebrities thought it was normal. “Now, for every BBC personality, it's obvious that this will be the end of your career – if you're found to endure it when someone else stands up, you'll be in very hot water, too. ”

Berners-Lee's latest book, The Ambient of Truth, concluded that we cannot grasp the core of the “fatal and dangerous” we are in – including climate change, biodiversity losses, food security issues and permanent pollution – which is the universality of authenticity to policy makers, business and the media.
…
He cites the greenhouse gas emission curve, which shows that emissions are still rising despite 29 climate change police officers and rank 30th in outings. “This is the reality we need to face: the process does not work. The best thing in COP29 is to understand that the process has been broken.” He added that it is also “subverted by companies that cannot be trusted”.

Mike Berners-Lee wrote “No Planet B” and many other books on climate crisis, so I think it’s fair to describe him as a fixture in the radical environmental movement.
But the truth is The facts are already about climate change.
Reuters recently admitted that net zero was a failure.
The climate shock has also been exposed to temperatures above 1.5 degrees Celsius throughout the year without any predicted major climate disasters.
Silicon Valley is almost no longer pretending to be concerned about climate change.
Still, I didn't accuse Mike Berners-Lee of being a liar. Reading the Climate Gate convinced my climate activists that actually believed what they were talking about.
The problem is not that they are lying, the problem is that they are wrong.
One of Freeman Dyson's biggest disappointments was his political travelers being trapped in the climate community. Dyson describes seeing this unfounded collective thinking many times in the past, mainly in the astronomy community. This happens when scientists fall in love with their model too much and start confusing the model with established facts.
Given that the world has now experienced 1.5 degrees Celsius warming, there is no predicted disaster, at least more than usual disasters, will scholars such as Mike Berners-Lee find the courage to admit their mistakes? You might think the answer is automatic, but we have at least one example of a well-known scholar who is brave enough to face the truth.
By the mid-2030s, climate alerters say or believe that the world will continue to move forward. Climate shockism is in progress, with many new voices now skeptical of the most extreme climate predictions. But the continued pain of high energy prices for decades is the people who have been waiting for a long time to work hard to pay their energy bills.
Every scholar who adds voice to climate skepticism will help shorten the suffering of people who are still trapped in a society that dominates government policies amid climate shock.
Let's hope Mike Berners-Lee and his scholars draw inspiration from James Lovelock and find the courage to admit they're wrong.
