Texas requires 30 reactors to meet data center power requirements
Demand for the Texas power grid is expected to expand so much that 30 nuclear power plants are added to meet demand by 2030 to 2030.

Springer said the data center “posed a reliability risk to the Ercot system”, speaking this week in Austin's group at the Ercot Market Summit in Infocast.
“We never existed in a place that really impacted the reliability of the grid, and now we are entering the world.”
Risk of grid pressure
Ercot said its new connection with large power users, including data centers, bitcoin miners and hydrogen producers, is equivalent to 99 GW of the requirement, according to the internal grid. This was 40.8 GW in March last year.

Not just Texas. Worldwide, new nuclear and fossil fuel capacity is being built frantically.
There is no state that is not affected by this stress. My prediction that even über green states like California will soon cave and allow gigawatts that offer cheap, adjustable energy large technology that will need to stay in the game from any available sources – fossil fuels, nuclear, imports, whatever they can master.
America is not the only player in the town. China is doing its best. The adverse conditions of their sanctions are balanced against their huge low-cost computer chip industry and their energy surplus.

In the global success of DeepSeek's latest AI reasoning model, China's top economic officials have vowed to build a state-backed fund to support technological innovation.
China's national economic planner Zheng Shanjie told reporters at the annual gathering of the China Rubber-Post Bureau's national legal and consulting agency on Thursday that the State Venture Capital Guidance Fund will focus on cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum technology and hydrogen storage.
Zheng, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, added that the fund is expected to attract nearly 1 trillion yuan ($138 billion) of capital over 20 years.

India's $1.25 billion effort to take over AI
State funding to enhance computing infrastructure, deep technology startups and data platforms

India is investing $1.25 billion (Rs 103.72 billion) to boost its artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem to expand its computing infrastructure and develop accessible data repositories.
Through public-private partnerships, Indian missions plan to build computing power or “computing” of 10,000 or more graphics processing units (GPUs). Over the next five years, it will build a platform for Indian startups and researchers with non-personal data, such as environmental data.

Europe lags behind Europe in cheap energy games, and although they will catch up, will they catch up with the flash. France is the only European country that takes AI seriously.
France uses nuclear power to lure artificial intelligence companies
Tuesday, February 11, 2025
UK-based AI cloud provider FluidStack has signed a memorandum of understanding with the French government to build one of the world's largest decarbonized AI supercomputers in France. Meanwhile, Utilities EDF has identified four locations on its own land that it will provide for the data center.
At the AI Action Summit in Paris, announced that under President Emmanuel Macron, France's Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Sovereignty signed a memorandum of understanding, French Minister of Industry and Energy Eric Lombard, Minister of Industry and Energy, Marc Feracci, Marc Feracci, and Fluidstack's co-founder and president, co-founder and president, Cunder.

If you are interested in why AI needs so much energy, this article provides some answers and can use real artificial intelligence.
The artificial intelligence pusher will not be activated. Of course, the current wave contains a lot of hype, and over the next few years we will see the usual bankruptcy because the company rides the waves, but nothing substantial can provide shareholders with running out of cash. But the basic technology is reasonable. Companies are already making huge profits using artificial intelligence to conduct accelerated drug discovery and reuse, intelligence analysis, semantic analysis and collation of news and events, and bring greater capabilities to human capabilities for forward-looking planning, strategic and scientific research.
At least one political leader got it.
In this match, the second place has no prizes.
