Big companies and nonprofits have begun to clear or rewrite quotes of climate change on their websites, reflecting similar actions by U.S. government departments in response to Donald Trump’s policies.
The Financial Times Analysis shows that over the past year, with Republican opposition to green action, statements on climate change at major companies including Walmart and Kraft Heinz have been removed or rewritten in the past year.

Areeba Hamid, co-executive director of UK GreenPeace UK, warned that the company faces “brand self-destruction by erasing and diluting climate references on its website”.

The charity also told FT that they are re-tuning their website, and a U.S. nonprofit that operates internationally says they have scrubbed the entire page on climate change online, in part to help claim grants from the U.S.

The full text is worth reading, with a list of a large number of companies and charities that have turned to climate action.
Interestingly, some of them obviously started to clear online climate content before the November election, which is probably due to Trump’s victory.
Apparently, if radical climate activists are elected as the White House, all statements of climate commitment will be covered with dust and restored. But in my opinion, it shows that companies and charities rarely really care about climate change and the fundamental weaknesses of the climate movement.
