The Biden administration deliberately buried the final draft version of a study that would undermine its January 2024 decision to suspend approval of liquefied natural gas (LNG) export projects.

Former Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and former President Joe Biden announced the liquefied natural gas freeze in January 2024, noting that it will remain in place until the DOE can conduct a comprehensive study of the climate and economic impacts of LNG export growth. Biden Doe finally finalized the draft study in 2023 and then buried it because the initial version of the discovery would contradict the government's justification for the freezing of LNG.

“The Department of Energy learned that former secretary Granholm and Biden's White House intentionally buried a large amount of data and released a skewed study to discredit the benefits of U.S. liquefied natural gas,” a DOE source told DCNF. “They prioritize their political ambitions over the interests of the American people, and the government intentionally deceived the American public and advanced an agenda that undermines U.S. energy security, environment and American life.” (Related: Biden-Harris administrator, accused of cheating on the way the United States freezes gas exports)

The Trump source told the DCNF that the Biden Doe had completed the final draft version of the LNG impact study by the end of September 2023, and that shortly thereafter, the version could be submitted to the highest version to top Biden officials. The special iteration of the study found that increasing U.S. LNG exports would actually lead to a reduction in global emissions, DOE sources told DCNF.

This particular finding is different from Granholm's analysis of the final study released to the public in December 2024, where she believes any increase in LNG exports will lead to higher global greenhouse gas emissions worldwide.

At the end of September 2023, an official from the Biden administration commented on the final version, which directed others to stop working until further notice, although other languages in the documentation state that the final version will be released around the end of September 2023. The research version was never released publicly, and Biden Doe believes the agency then classified it as part of the internal review process, so Biden Doe considers it a “working document.”

Additionally, Biden Doe appears to have removed many of the pages that appeared in the September 2023 draft version, removing the page from the final version released to the public at the end of 2024.

While the paper versions for September 2023 and December 2024 bear the same name under the same name, the final version released to the public does not include a specific type of analysis of LNG exports, called considerations for market effects, a Trump Doe source told DCNF. This specific analysis, including in the September 2023 version of the study, but not the final product, found that U.S. LNG exports will reduce global emissions by replacing more polluted foreign energy sources, and its lack of the December 2024 version biases Biden DOE toward the final report of the final report in opposition to the increase in LNG Exports. DOE sources told the DCNF that it proved that the Biden administration would bury the initial, politically inconvenient version of the study and mislead the American public in the process.

Granholm and Biden announced a suspension of announcements, meaning the administration is freezing the export approval of LNG in search of answers Trump Dornu sources said had been found, while Biden officials chose to ignore it. Specifically, both Biden and Granholm suggested that the increase in LNG exports would be the net negative net worth of global climate, and Granholm said a lot clearly after releasing the final study to the public in December 2024.

“During this time, we will take a closer look at the impact of LNG exports on energy costs, U.S. energy security and our environment. This new pause in LNG approval sees what this is: There are threats in our time.” statement The day when the pause was announced. “While magazine Republicans deliberately deny the urgency of the climate crisis and condemn the American people for a dangerous future, my administration will not be complacent.”

It is worth noting that House Speaker Mike Johnson recalled to the free media in January 2025 that Biden “really didn’t know what he signed” when he asked the president about the decision to freeze the January 2024 freeze LNG approval, Republicans added that he left the impression because in practice Biden wasn’t actually running in practice.

The U.S. Department of Energy said it would “start” a review to determine whether the increase in liquefied natural gas exports is in the public interest, the statement on January 26, 2024, the day when the pause was announced.

Granholm claims that the final version of the study was released to the public in December 2024, suggesting: “In each case, an increase in LNG exports leads to an increase in global net emissions” and that “a method that continues to be unsustainable and undesirable.” Granholm said in a moratorium first announced in January 2024 that the review “will ensure the use of the latest economic and environmental analytics and ensure that DOE remains a responsible player.”

“At the time, Granholm said they were actually hiding the latest economic and environmental analysis to the public because it contradicted the ban they were trying to propose, and they knew the facts before they created a cherry pick data,” “When you look at what they were hiding and at the same time, it was obvious that they made decisions that followed the best interests of the American people without interest. They were interested in making decisions that would benefit politically and manipulate science in any way necessary.”
