The Biden administration has buried its final report for more than a year and has failed to prove that the increase in U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals is related to its meaningful impact on greenhouse gas emissions. [emphasis, links added]
The Biden administration delayed the release of information. Senior Trump administration official tells Fox News figures Share data with House Oversight Committee Republicans.
The Daily Call News Foundation first reported that the Biden administration “deliberately buried” the study.
U.S. Department of Energy scientists and federal contractors reviewed the environmental impact of new U.S. liquefied natural gas exports and the economy, which completed their work in September 2023 and prepared a draft final report.
Fox News independently reviewed a copy of the study’s draft titled “Energy, Economic and Environmental Assessment of U.S. LNG Exports.”
The report and its findings are scheduled to be published in 2023 – President Joe Biden, who was still seeking reelection, announced a suspension of all new U.S. LNG export terminals in January 2024, to better consider environmental and economic impacts.
The draft report found that in all modeled options, the increase in U.S. LNG exports and natural gas production did not change global or U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, nor was it associated with rising consumer energy prices. Trump administration officials said.
“Secretaries Granholm and Biden White House told Americans that the increase in LNG exports will disproportionately increase prices for American consumers and the environment,” an official said.
“Both statements dismissed the Biden administration's hiding Congress and the American public in the report. ” said the official.
A copy of the report is shared with the House Oversight Committee, which has been asking the Department of Energy to share its findings on LNG since March 2024.
“Biden administration officials religiously claim to follow science, abandoning it to undermine American-made energy production, appease climate activists and achieve predetermined results,” he said. House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer, R-KY. Tell Fox News in response to the release of the report.
“I thank President Trump and Secretary Wright for providing the transparency the American people deserve and taking action to restore America’s energy advantages.”
The 2023 survey results list the clearest data to date, namely the Biden administration and then-energy secretary Jennifer Granholm, misunderstood the impact of liquefied natural gas exports on the United States
At the time, Biden faced growing criticism from party progressives to reduce liquefied natural gas exports, which rose to an all-time high during his tenure.
After Russia's war in Ukraine, the United States became the world's largest energy exporter in 2023, supported by new EU demand, and it almost suddenly cut off all pipeline gas supplies from the group.
