The Biden administration spent hundreds of millions of dollars to drive renewable energy, with the result that national utility prices rose by 30%. However, despite the (intermittent and expensive) electricity, there is no amount of wind and solar power that can make rubber or plastic or millions of products we use, nor can we counterfeit steel or produce cement. Yes, we need more electricity, but the Biden team is determined to resist fossil fuels under the push of more electricity, why is nuclear technology excluded from the conversation?
In the production of petrochemical products, the imminent fossil fuels are imminent, but the United States is on the verge of the nuclear energy revolution due to electricity demand. Advanced nuclear technology and small modular reactors (SMRs) have proven to be game-changers.
Similar to the coal war and ongoing attacks on oil and gas, nuclear energy is the same as a group of radical activists who hope to thwart US progress. President Obama's former chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Gregory Jaczko, was famously an objective expert on these future technologies at a recent ceraweek meeting, such as having a beef panel hosted by vegans.
As NRC Chairman, Jaczko's mission is to keep shutting down nuclear innovation. He voted against opening any new nuclear power plants and was known for the global ban on nuclear power. It is frustrating that Jacques has the ability to reduce nuclear power in the United States. Giving him a platform to continue promoting his extreme views is confusing.
Fortunately, the United States has the opportunity to open the page of this anti-capacity agenda and fully embrace the new era of nuclear power. During his first term as President Donald J. Trump, he laid the foundation for innovative and friendly policies that encourage the development of next-generation nuclear technology. Now we have the opportunity to get rid of bureaucratic obstacles from the past and introduce a golden age of nuclear energy.
Oklo, a company from California, has signed an agreement to deploy SMR to operate data centers so that the United States can continue to direct bases to China with AI instead of using bases. We need more electricity production to manufacture and industrialize in order to expand housing in cities and suburbs for commercial, farm and residential purposes. The only thing standing on the road? Outdated regulations, bureaucratic inertia, and ideological antagonisms of people like Jacques.
We've read this script before. The same activist who wrongly claimed to support “green energy” is actually lobbyists promoting unreliable wind and solar energy as the only acceptable energy option, which is their massive land use, supply chain issues, and reliance on rare earth minerals in China like China’s confrontational countries. Nuclear power, on the other hand, provides a smaller environmental footprint for stable energy, and in the United States, we have all the raw materials here.
President Trump has the opportunity to advocate for the cause again, reducing the traditional Chinese tape festival that has long plagued nuclear development. By prioritizing simplified regulatory approvals, supporting research on next-generation reactors, and opposing fearful anti-nuclear activist, his administration can unlock the full potential of U.S. energy innovation.
Nuclear requires U.S. raw materials and U.S. labor. Nuclear expansion and President Trump’s call for reopening natural gas and clean coal-fired power plants will restore electricity costs to cheap levels after four years of catastrophic Biden’s energy policy.
The future of nuclear energy is bright, but only if we allow progress. It’s time to reject past failure policies and adopt energy solutions that can drive for our future. If we are willing to seize the golden age of nuclear energy, nuclear energy is here.
