California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Friday that California will launch satellite sensors for methane detection for $100 million, borrowing more than $6 billion to fill the shortage of its healthcare system. [emphasis, links added]
Gold State is in cash, and its Medicaid system, Medi-Cal, reportedly was unable to repay debts due to Newom's decision to extend free health care to illegal foreigners.
The state also stands out from wildfires, homelessness and crime.
However, Newsom recently launched a podcast where he believes the state has enough funds to fund the launch of satellite sensors to track locally issued greenhouse gases to reduce global emissions.
Ironically, California has launched six times more carbon dioxide than carbon dioxide over the past 17 years, thanks to the wildfire portions burning due to the state's failure to remove brushes in the forest.
Newsom announces satellite launches targeting Trump administration's excavation of climate change – Even he counts on President Donald Trump and Republicans to provide $40 billion in aid for the California fires.
The governor's office said in a statement:
The new initiative is because the Trump administration’s EPA is committed to removing decades of protection from clean air and clean water. Specifically, the U.S. EPA is reconsidering “hazard discovery”, the basis for federal action to curb planetary warm gases, including greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane.
The technology announced today involves satellite-mounted methane sensors that send data to enable the state to locate and monitor large quantities of methane that may not be discovered. The new data will enable state and local agencies to work with the industry to stop leaks and protect public health.

The satellite project and its data obtained make it possible through the state's cap and $100 million investment in trade plans. One satellite has been launched, and up to 7 satellites can be deployed.
The state will maintain a database and web portal to coordinate and document mitigation operations. Although California does not own these satellites, state agencies will be able to select specific areas for observation. The data will also be used in the community to view methane mitigation efforts, education and outreach.

Last year, California followed a promise from former Gov. Jerry Brown when a charitable-backed coalition, including the state, launched its own “damn satellite” to help track dangerous pollutants like methane.
Ironically, Newsom is seeking credibility as “the fastest large cleanup in American history” in Los Angeles wildfires, despite federal agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency.
“Thank you for your EPA, thank you [EPA Administrator] Lee Zeldin, thanks President Trump for his direct help.
While making money from the Trump administration and lenders, Newsom recently signed $50 million in spending to stop government policies and provide legal aid to illegal foreigners who resist deportation.
