U.S. Supreme Court won't hear novel youth-led climate change cases

202511 March 25: 29 AM GMT+10March 24 (Reuters) – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected bids from 21 young people to resume a new lawsuit claiming that the U.S. government's energy policy violated its right to protect against climate change.
The judges denied the youth activists’ demands to hear their appeal against the San Francisco-based U.S. Court of Appeals, instructing Oregon’s federal judge to dismiss the case to dismiss the case because they lack legal status to litigate.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling today is not the end of the road, and Juliana’s impact cannot be measured by the outcome of this case alone,” Julia Olson, the attorney for our Children’s Trust plaintiffs, said in a statement.

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court denies the plaintiff’s petition Juliana v. United Statesthe Justice Department has been defending this in three presidential administrations.
The case filed a lawsuit in 2015, trying to force the court to force the government to implement stricter remedies related to climate change. The U.S. District Court for Oregon agreed to hear the case. The Justice Department filed a dismissal and sought an intermediary appeal from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Ninth Circuit returned the case to the District Court and directed it to be dismissed. The District Court accepted the amended complaint and the Circuit Court once again directed the case to be dismissed. The plaintiff then filed a petition to Certioorari in the Supreme Court.

This is a long legend.
Obviously, this ridiculous case has finally been dismissed, which is good news, but I am sorry for the young people.
A few things I can think of are more meaner than using children as political pawns, and I believe these young people have been used.
