But, however, the devastating storm…
Trump wants to convince the world that climate change is a good thing
Presidents who regularly attack renewable energy are clearly ready to argue that climate change will benefit humanity
Thor Benson
March 31, 2025Windmills cause cancer. They are killing birds and whales. Electric cars don't work. Have you heard of electric sharks? Climate change is a scam. Donald Trump’s claims on climate change and renewable energy are hard to understand, but Trump’s latest route on climate change is both surprising and truly dangerous: He is now determined to convince the world that climate change is a good thing.
Trump certainly downplayed the effects of past climate change. He claimed that sea level rise would create more seafront properties, which seemed to be a misunderstanding of how land works. He was talking about people, and if there was a little warm outside, people would actually be happy. Even Elon Musk, a Trump adviser who runs an EV company, downplays the threat of climate change in recent months.
Now, Trump’s goal is to use the power of the federal government to redefine climate change as a beneficial humanity.

“It’s so outrageous, except [Trump] “In the United States, it's a good thing that anyone can freely call devastating storms, floods, droughts, air pollution, killer heat waves, and the growing threat of mosquito and tickworm disease,” said Edward Maibach, director of the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University. But it's not true.”

Here is what IPCC says about extreme weather – Chapter 11 from AR6, the latest IPCC official report.
Extreme storms, including tropical cyclones
Average and maximum rainfall rates associated with tropical cyclones (TCS), tropical cyclones and atmospheric rivers around the world, and severe convective storms in some areas, Adding in a warm world ((High confidence) . Visible Event Attribution Study Observable Strong TC Provides Medium confidence To human contribution to extreme TC rainfall. The peak TC rainfall rate increases at least as the average water vapor increase rate of the ocean increases (warming per 1°C), in some cases, low levels of moisture convergence due to increased TC wind intensity (over this rate in some cases) (Medium confidence). {11.7, 11.4, Box 11.1}
This is possible Global proportion of 3-5 types of tropical cyclone examples2Over the past four decades, there has been an increase. The average position of TCS reaching peak wind intensity Very likely Since the 1940s, the extreme has been moved to the western North Pacificand TC translation speed has possible Since 1900, the American community has slowed down. Evidence for similar trends in other regions is not strong. TC rapid reinforcement events global frequency has possible Over the past four decades, there has been an increase. None of these changes can be explained by natural variability alone (Medium confidence).
The proportion of strong TC, average peak TC wind speed and peak wind speed of the most intense TC will increase with increasing global warming ((High confidence). As global warming increases, the total global frequency of TC formation will decrease or remain unchanged (mediumNCE). {11.7.1}
have Low confidence Among the measures of past maximum wind speed and other dynamic cyclone dynamic intensity. Wind speed changes are expected to be small in the future, although the extreme changes in the storm trajectory may lead to extreme wind speed changes in some areas ((Medium confidence). have Low confidence In past trends, severe convective storms such as hail and strong winds have exceeded the increase in precipitation rates. The frequency of severe convective storms in spring is expected to increase in the United States, resulting in increased seasons of severe convective storms (Medium confidence); The evidence in other regions is limited. {11.7.2, 11.7.3}.

Before you are too concerned about all of these “medium confidence” assertions, there is a lovely climate gate email where scientists explain what they actually mean by “medium confidence.” “Medium confidence” is a replacement for “inconclusive”.

Hello everyone. I'm grateful for the WG 1's improved table, especially the level of symmetry confidence, but Please get rid of the ridiculous “inconclusive” of the .34 to .66 subjective probability range. It will convey a completely different meaning to the layman – Read Decision Maker – This range of probability represents a moderate level of confidencenot a rare event. Phrases like “very likely” are closer to popular dictionaries, but uncertainty also applies to very likely or unlikely events that will undoubtedly be misunderstood outside. I'm also grateful for the increase in hurricane intensity, while warming takes less time from capture than the .66 category in the turf.

With this climate, gobbledygook translation, we know that the IPCC's “medium confidence” means “uncertainty”. Given the number of “medium confidence” claims in the IPCC citations mentioned above, I think we can reasonably conclude that claims that climate change causes extreme weather is not supported by the evidence.
As for the claims that climate change will increase mosquito-borne diseases, it is ridiculous, and I am surprised that scientists still have predators who continue to make this claim. Anyone who has ever visited the North will directly observe that mosquitoes can thrive without a tropical climate. Those mosquitoes in the north are also able to carry mosquito diseases like malaria and tropical cousins.
Of course, there is strong counter-evidence on the food panic narrative in the form of soaring food crop yields.
The saddest part for me was a kid who once thought Rolling Stone was a media group representing something.
I think it's safe to say that I don't believe this anymore – I think the Rolling Stone article I think is a lazy piece of news.
Rolling Stone reporters have no evidence that Trump may be the right reason for global warming. Journalists have not tried to study the history of diseases such as malaria, which were once a scourge of Britain, and even northern countries like Sweden – definitely not a disease that requires a tropical climate to thrive. As a reward, journalists could have asked the cited scientists about why global warming, the soaring agricultural outputs — and whether scientists can date when they expect this to happen.
