From the Cliffs Public Weather Blog
The Seattle Times’s “Climbing” story is often hasty and incorrect, and today’s article is a great example of bad journalism and makes politicized, erroneous claims.
The title of today's front page story: “This story is a farewell to the national meteorological service…”?

Then it describes Last visit Go to the National Weather Service before Trump and magazine

Isn't the point yet? Then read the story.

Therefore, people claiming Trump are closely following the document on the 2025 project, which calls for an end to NOAA and sending NWS prediction capabilities to the private sector.
Want to be clearer? The Seattle Times article then quoted an article from the Atlantic Ocean to discuss “Maga plans to end free weather reports”

Big Problems with Seattle Times Story
The basic problem with the story is This is all true.
False, unsupported claims openly promote partisan views.
More powerful words are appropriate, but I will leave those to others.

Consider some facts.
Fact 1: The National Meteorological Service Office has not been terminated.
Fact 2: There are no changes or recommendations for the National Weather Service (NWS) product.
Fact 3: President Trump Denied clearly He followed the 2020 project plan and explicitly rejected the plan.
Let me say it again… President Trump made it clear that he does not support the 2025 project. He said it showed thoughts about the far right. Not his.
Fact 4: The new head of the Department of Commerce (Howard Lutnik) of the NOAA and NWS affiliated departments made it clear He won't eliminate it It's NOO or NS.
Don't believe me? View this Axios article.

Lutnick said he would maintain the NWS in testimony in the U.S. Senate.
Fact 5: I've talked to people in the new government. They have made it clear that there is no agenda to get rid of NOAA or NWS.
Disappointing “news”
Erik Lacitis, the author of this story, called me while writing this article. I told him the truth. I have a deep understanding of the situation in NOAA and NWS, have served on several advisory committees and have written several papers on this situation.
However, even in light of the facts, the author has published this obviously incorrect article. Very disappointing.
NOAA/NWS The Trump administration hasn't done a good job so far
Finally, let me know.
The Trump administration made some serious mistakes, such as firing NOAA/NWS employees for probation and then having to rehire them. The people of Trump don’t seem to have a logical game plan to understand what needs to be fixed in NOAA and then do something about it.
NOAA has deep flaws that need to be solved. This government needs to engage with those who know the problem and have ideas on how to solve it.
