Inflation Reduction Act is a $2 trillion lie that undermines U.S. energy and growth

The Inflation Reduction Act, named by the O'Willie, was sold to Americans to cure the price rise, but from the outset, it was a lie. Instead of taming inflation, this huge law promotes excessive government abandonment, spending and economic damage. [emphasis, links added]

As a Wisconsin in Wisconsin fighting for fiscal sanity and free markets, I call on Congress to do the right thing: to abolish every word of the IRA. No rescue of this disaster – must go.

Let's reduce noise. IRA is not about reducing inflation. As a green policy, this is a $1.9 trillion electricity snap-up. It puts taxpayer dollars into unreliable wind and solar projects while stifling affordable, reliable energy sources such as coal and natural gas.

As families struggle with high-energy bills and a shaky power grid, the IRA will double the technology that relies on weather-dependent, which fails when the wind stops or the sun falls.

This is not progress – it is the secret to a power outage.

Worse, the IRA supports supply chains controlled by the Communist Party of China (CCP). That's right – your taxes are meant to subsidize industries that enrich our rivals while undermining the energy independence of the United States.

From solar panels to electric vehicle components, IRA handed over billions to Beijing-based companies’ comfortable companies, allowing small businesses and working families to pay their bills at higher costs.

This is not just bad economics, it is a failure of national security.

The law also works hand in hand with Biden-era EPA rules to force Americans into electric vehicles, whether they can afford it or not. In Wisconsin, winter is brutal, with rural roads stretching for miles, and most people don’t want or need a battery-powered car, struggling in the cold.

However, IRA’s incentives keep the industry away from consumer demands and bureaucratic demands. This is not a free market, it is the government's micromanagement of steroids.

The result itself is: record inflation, soaring energy prices, $36 trillion in national debt and the growing economy.

On November 5, 2024, voters sent a clear message, rejecting Biden's big administration agenda and demanding a return to fiscal responsibility and economic freedom.

The IRA is a symbol of everything they voted against: tax rate hikes masquerading as green virtues, reckless spending has led to another downgrade of our debt and promoting downgrade of inflation, and centralized control of our lives.

IRA is rotting, built on the promise of nepotism and baits and switches to lower prices…

The IRA drives energy costs, which will take away one of the advantages we have over other countries: low energy costs. Germany, Denmark and the UK have suffered from deindustrialization due to their IRAs. Keep it doing what it will do to our country to their behavior.

These countries have to pay three to four times the fees, and we have increased our electricity quickly.

Due to our high labor costs, regulatory burdens, and relatively low energy costs at present, this will allow a reset of manufacturing in a low or no-feasibility world.

Some Republicans in Congress are tempted to keep a portion of the IRA, picking out the tax credits for cherries or potentially good subsidies. This is a mistake we cannot repeat.

The core of IRA is the core of the decoy and switch commitment based on nepotism and lower prices, and retaining any one means recognizing government-guided energy markets and corporate benefits.

That's not conservative – its surrender.
