Tejeda is an outstanding scientist specializing in physics and weather. He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Madrid, focusing on climatology and has a PhD in training on the impact of El Niño on the Caribbean Sea from the University of Florida.
He has held important positions at the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina and led research projects on North Atlantic coastal erosion, climate management, and hurricanes. In addition, he has published books on global warming and climate management in the Caribbean.
