Tracking influencing weather – overnight showers and light winds
Tonight's weather. Sorry about that little idiot. So we were hot and humid all day. Combined with the collision of sea breezes, this is responsible for the storms we see outside. Now. So that's one of the best chances for severe thunderstorms between now and 9:00, and we do have a couple of severe thunderstorms coming right now. Let's take a look at the I-4 corridor. This is actually west of I-4, and not too long ago lightning was common here. Even though it was raining all over Orange County, there was a flood warning and you could see the wind. These are also coming soon. Winds are now blowing from the south and east at 17 mph. These are sustained winds, but occasionally there may be gusts above force 25, possibly even approaching 35 mph. You can see this outflow boundary running through Lake County. So, we do have precipitation, and it's west of I-4, currently toward Paisley and Lake County. We have some stronger showers near you. In Sorrento, we could see bright yellows, oranges, and even reds toward Eustis, indicating rainfall return rates of up to two inches in just an hour's time. Keep in mind that these storms move very slowly, so they stay overhead for quite some time, and the longer they stay overhead, the better. Any potential flooding may occur as we travel to Rutland and Sumter counties. Another cloud of lightning strikes moves north. You can see where we have had rain. The temperature is a little cooler, right? Leesburg, DeLand, and Sanford are all in the 80s and above, and almost everywhere else are in the 90s and below. This afternoon we have peaked in the mid-to-upper 90s. Below are the current wind speeds in surrounding cities. You'll see that the main push is coming from the East. We did get moisture along the Atlantic coast today with 17 mph winds in Orlando, 15 mph in Bislow and 15 mph in St. Cloud. This is what pushes the storm west, closer to I 75. But keep in mind, we do have weather influence tonight. The incident occurred between now and 9:00, when we can see similar conditions heading toward Kissimmee. At 8:00 heavier showers develop. Thankfully though, we'll lose some energy as the sun sets, and by midnight we should see the rain taper off, with partly cloudy conditions remaining throughout the night. The 12 hour weather forecast for Daytona does show that the showers are ending and we do see partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies overnight. We'll stay hazy, hot and humid tonight. Tomorrow, the stormy weather returns. We are tracking some tropical moisture moving through southern Florida and will take advantage of some opportunities for rain and stormy weather. Temperatures tomorrow will be a little cooler than the highs we saw today, ranging between the upper 80s and mid 90s. Nonetheless, widespread showers may return and we will see similar areas south of I-4. I'm 75 and if you're in Bushnell and Sumter counties, you're going to have another rainfall coming in your direction tomorrow. Schedule your future casting now. We did mention sunshine starting Monday morning and showers moving south across the I-4 quarter as we head into the work week and we did mention Sumter and Polk counties. There we saw some heavier showers. Monday night. But eventually, as we progressed through the work week, the showers were repeated again and again as the temperatures remained fairly consistent. Your 7-day forecast does have highs in the mid-90s. Monday, Tuesday, mid 90s, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, we'll wrap up your 7 day forecast on Thursday
