By Tonight: Showers continued into the evening, but were less numerous and less frequent than before. Anything that falls can cause localized heaviness for a short period of time. The trend should be towards less rainfall at night. There may be some fog late at night, with lows settling into the low 70s to low 70s.

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Some sunshine is back. Although it may not rain that day, it should stay dry for most of the day. The chance of showers and storms will increase in the evening and continue into the night. Highs occur in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

rain: Rainfall totals in the area today will range from basically zero to about an inch. In the middle, the DC rises a little over half an inch. The areas with the highest totals are mainly in the east and north of the city. These included 0.82 inches at Andrews Air Force Base, 1.09 inches at Severna Park and Chevy Chase, and 0.62 inches at Bowie.
