Greater Akron remains in a “moderate” drought with little sign of relief this weekend.
The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows Summit County, along with Medina, Wayne, Portage and Stark counties, in drought conditions.
Summit County is considered to be in a moderate drought.
Under moderate drought conditions, impacts could include impacts on landscaping companies, a reduction in mosquitoes and impacts on crops including corn.
About 70% of Ohio is currently considered to be in some degree of drought, with the most severe drought in southeastern Ohio.
When does it rain in Akron?
The National Weather Service said northern Ohio is experiencing a drought and the next chance for rain won't arrive until Monday.
And not only will your mouth be dry, but it will also be very hot.
Temperatures will reach the 80s on Saturday and highs in the 90s on Sunday before rain keeps temperatures in the 80s to start the week.
Showers and storms are possible each day, with highs eventually returning to around 90 degrees on Thursday.
