Missoula continues to be affected by several large-scale power outages following Wednesday night's storm. Thousands of Northwest Energy customers remained without power Friday morning.
Outages included more than 2,400 in downtown Missoula, 1,800 in the Target Range, 1,200 in the South Mountain area and 1,100 north of downtown Missoula.
Northwest Energy said on social media that 40,000 customers in the Missoula area were without power at one point. As of Thursday evening, the number remained at 20,000.
Additional crews were called to the Missoula area due to multiple power outages. The latest Northwest power outage information can be found here.
The Montana Red Cross is located at the Missoula Elections Center on North Russell Street where people can charge essential personal devices, including medical equipment.
The center is open from 10am to 8pm and provides electricity, air conditioning and shower facilities. (People should bring their own towels and toiletries).

The aftermath of the storm that swept through Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley was still visible Thursday morning.
Power outages are still affecting thousands of people, with Northwest Energy continuing to report multiple outages.
Some of the large outages include more than 2,400 customers in the Mullan Road area west of Missoula, 2,500 customers in downtown Missoula, 2,300 customers in the Target Range area, 1,200 customers in the South Hills and Russell and Third streets 1,100 customers in the region.
Another massive power outage has been reported in the Bonner area, plunging 1,500 Northwest Energy customers into darkness.

Power was restored overnight to most people in the Lolo and Stevensville areas where thousands were without power after the storm hit late Wednesday night.

Missoula Storm Aftermath – July 25 AM Update

Northwest Energy reported thousands of outages around the Missoula area.
There were also reports of wildfires, power outages, trees and power lines in Missoula and surrounding areas.
The two largest outages occurred in Missoula, affecting 1,500 customers each. Meanwhile, more than 2,000 people in Lolo City were without power.
The largest outage reported by Ravalli County Electric was to more than 2,100 members in the Stevensville area.
Many traffic lights were also out. The Missoula Police Department advises drivers to use extra caution on the roadways.
There have been numerous reports of downed power lines in the Victor area.
Additionally, the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office reports they have received numerous calls regarding lightning strikes in the Bitterroot Mountains between Stevensville and Florence.
