Hurricane HQ: New tropical disturbance being tracked
The Atlantic Ocean has remained calm since Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas earlier this month. The situation may change as new disturbances are being tracked. The chances of it developing are low, but forecasters are watching it closely.
Heavy rains continue, and flood risks still exist in the south
Days of heavy rain in the south have caused flooding in parts of the region. Several high-water rescues were reported in the Houston area on Friday. Wet weather will continue through the weekend, putting millions of people in flood danger zones from Texas to North Carolina.
Storm will bring rough seas to New England
Storms developing along the Northeast Coast this weekend will bring rain, strong winds and dangerous surf to coastal New England early next week. While a tropical storm is not expected, the storm could bring tropical storm-like conditions to parts of the region.
