Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that “this decade has been full of changes – technological and geopolitical, but also full of opportunities.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the ninth session of the Council on Saturday National Institute for Transformation of India (NITI Aayog) Meeting Putting the issue of making India a developed country by 2047 on the agenda, he said, “We are moving in the right direction.” “We have defeated a once-in-a-century pandemic. Our people are full of enthusiasm and confidence. With the joint efforts of all countries, we can realize the dream of Viksit Bharat @ 2047. Viksit State will build Viksit Bharat,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi further emphasized that “this decade has been full of changes – technological and geopolitical, but also full of opportunities.” “India should seize these opportunities and make our policies conducive to international investments. This is a stepping stone for India's progress as a developed country,” he added.
“Viksit Bharat @ 2047 is the ambition of every Indian. States can play an active role in achieving this goal as they have a direct link with the people,” the Prime Minister said.
The meeting also focused on the recommendations of the third National Conference of Chief Secretaries held in December last year. The committee, chaired by the Prime Minister, consists of all state chief ministers, deputy governors of federal territories and several federal ministers.
Several chief ministers of the Indian bloc, including Tamil Nadu DMK Chief Minister Stalin, Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan, Punjab Aadmi Party Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and all three Congress chief ministers – Siddaramaiah of Karnataka, Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh and Telangana's Revanth Reddy decided to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting after slamming the Center for being biased in catering the budget to allies JD(U) and TDP.
