Forecast discussion:
Good Tuesday evening,
After today's record rainfall, flooding will continue to be a concern tonight into tomorrow morning as much of our region has received over 2-4 inches of rain in the past 48 hours. On top of that, we have some strong to severe storms around and after sunset tonight. Any lingering rain will shift eastward overnight to cloudy skies and cooler air.
On the back side of this system, the low voltage will bring down some cold air for the remainder of the work week. Temperatures will rise into the mid-40s on Wednesday with scattered showers and light winds.
Slightly wet winter weather is expected Thursday morning, followed by cold showers in the afternoon, with highs only in the mid-40s. Showers are possible early Friday, but the weather will remain cold with highs only reaching around 40 degrees. Late Friday we'll start to dry out, getting ready for a nice, easy start to the weekend.
Temperatures will warm back up to near 50 degrees on Saturday and sunshine will return to our area. More sunshine and warmer temperatures are expected on Sunday, with highs reaching the mid-50s. Unfortunately, more clouds will appear on Monday, but temperatures will be in the upper 60s. For the afternoon eclipse time, there will indeed be at least mixed clouds present at this time, and with the warm front rising north, the possibility of scattered showers later in the day cannot be ruled out.
Tuesday will be a warm day with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70s.
