DENVER (KDVR) — Scattered storms will occur Saturday, mainly after 1 p.m., while temperatures will reach around 90 degrees. This all comes before hot, dry weather begins to return on Sunday.
Today's weather: Sunny and warm, with a chance of showers
Denver will see plenty of sunshine on Saturday with highs in the lower 90s. Clouds will increase ahead of afternoon showers and storms, some of which may bring gusty winds and heavy downpours.
While wind is the main threat here, some of the more severe storms may also produce hail, especially in the plains.
Tonight's weather: Showers and storms ending
The remaining showers and storms will move out of the area as skies clear Saturday night. Nighttime low temperatures drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Looking ahead: hot and sunny
A dry, hot weather pattern begins to set in starting Sunday. On Sunday, high temperatures will rise into the mid-90s, more than 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s during the first half of the week, with several days in the record range.
Monday is expected to be below the daily high temperature record set in 2005 (97 degrees).
