COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) – A front that blew in from our north yesterday is finally here this afternoon bringing with it showers and storms. This afternoon's storms are all below severe limits, but they bring a risk of flooding, particularly in areas of Lee and Russell counties. After sunset, the storm quickly subsides.
tomorrow: This front will persist over the next few days, causing more unsettled weather. Scattered storms will begin just after noon Sunday. Because of the early rain, temperatures will struggle to break above 80 degrees in the afternoon.
next week: Scattered storms are possible into Tuesday. Rain chances will begin to decrease by mid-week, but showers and storms are still possible each afternoon into next weekend. With plenty of sunshine, readings will rise into the 90s by Wednesday afternoon.
tropical: The past few weeks have been quiet in the tropics, but that could change. There is a 30% chance of a disturbance in the Atlantic next week. There is considerable uncertainty about whether this situation will develop and, if so, where it will go.
