Relatives of three people who drowned in the basement of a Derry coaching center have demanded justice.
Shriya Yadav of Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni of Telangana and Naveen Darwin of Ernakulam in Kerala on Saturday Rau died after the basement of his IAS coaching college in central Old Rajinder Nagar district was flooded due to heavy rains.
The post-mortem examination of the bodies of three civil service candidates will be conducted on Sunday even as protests continue over the death toll in the Delhi coaching center drowning incident.

Students suspected the casualty toll was higher, claiming they saw more bodies. They have been asking the municipality to provide CCTV footage.

According to the no-objection certificate (NOC) of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) accessed by CNN-News18, the center is only allowed to use the basement for storage purposes and not as a library. The DFS will write to the Delhi Police to add relevant sections in the First Information Report (FIR).
Ambedkar Nagar sub-divisional magistrate Saurabh Shukla told ANI, “We got information that a student of Ambedkar Nagar died in an incident that happened during the night. So, on the instructions of the district administration, we reached here… She was a very talented person A promising student, she went to Delhi for IAS coaching… We have sought a report from the authorities…”

Shreya Yadav's relative Dharmendra Yadav told ANI, “I did not receive any official information from the coaching institute or the administration. I came here after seeing the news. I went to the mortuary and asked them to show my face for identification, but They denied it and said it was a police case. They showed me a piece of paper with her (Shreya Yadav's) name on it… I was with her when she was admitted and when news of the student's death started to emerge. Called the coaching agency. They said we don't know the name but there were two casualties… Only those who have given birth know how valuable life is and it should not be lost due to poor management. I demand that the owner of the training agency be prosecuted for manslaughter. case…”

CPI(M) Lok Sabha MP V Sivadasan told ANI: “We have inspected the site of the incident and talked to the family members of the victim from Ernakulam. This kind of thing should not happen… Delhi has not done so properly of drainage system… Coaching center owners are conducting classes and setting up libraries in basements without proper permission from the government… We demand safety audit of all coaching centers and strict regulations for them, the government is promoting these centres. Because officials and authorities are collecting huge amounts of money from training center owners.
Delhi Police on Sunday arrested Abhishek Gupta and Deshpal Singh, the owners and coordinators of Rao IAS Research Circle.

According to DFS, a flooding call was received at the coaching center around 7pm on Saturday, indicating that someone might be trapped.

Police said the basement appeared to flood quickly, trapping some people inside. A fire department official said five fire trucks were called to the scene and the basement was full of water when they arrived.
Officials said ropes were used to evacuate the trapped students. A police officer said furniture from the coaching center was floating on the water, hampering rescue operations.
