Forecast: Sunday will be hotter
Happy Sunday. I'm meteorologist Joseph Neubauer. After a bit of rain this morning, the weather is starting to warm up. It has now reached its peak in the mid-to-early 90s. If you want to know the heat index value, there are even numbers below 100, starting today we feel like it will be above 100. Here it is on Sunday. Here we are. The heat wave was already here, but it really intensified on Monday when temperatures reached a century high. On Monday, southerly winds around 10 to 15 mph will bring a more widespread Category 100 hurricane. We will also lose the chance of rain. There will be plenty of sunshine in some spots on the eastern end of the state on Monday, with temperatures likely to stay in the mid-90s, but yes, we're all warming up. When you look at Monday's heat index values, we can see a heat warning in effect for the OKC, Oklahoma area. I mean, when you push 110, you're probably going to get some high temperature recommendations. So we'll have to keep an eye on some things from the National Weather Service heading into Monday. And the entire upcoming work week. Meteorologist Sabrina Bates late this afternoon and into the evening. Please contact her on KOCO 5. She was talking about this hot weather and when we can relax a bit
