- Scattered downpours continue throughout the night

- Heat index surges into triple digits midweek
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVY) – After sunset, widespread storms will become more scattered tonight as we lose the heat of the day. The weather will be very warm and muggy, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.
The weather pattern will be very unsettled this week as we are monitoring the risk of multiple storm groups sweeping across the WAVE Country. The first cluster appears to be arriving from the west on Monday afternoon. There is also an increasing chance of another severe storm late Monday night into early Tuesday morning.
Any storm group this week will produce heavy rain and damaging wind gusts. The risk for scattered and clustered storms remains Tuesday. Extreme humidity will also be a bigger concern this week as the heat index will reach and exceed 100 degrees on several consecutive days.
Wednesday and Thursday will be the hottest days, with highs in the 90s and a heat index near 105 degrees. Heat warnings are likely to be in effect by midweek. Scattered daily storms may provide some very slight relief from the heat.
