MOLINE, IL — If you were out and about on Monday, you know it was pretty warm, but very humid considering the recent early morning rain.
By Monday night, skies will be clear, the wind will be light, and the air will be filled with moisture. Fog is possible in some areas before dawn Tuesday. By then, temperatures will be warm and sticky, with lows only dipping into the 60s.
On Tuesday, we will issue Storm Tracking 8 Weather Impact Alert Day, tracking the potential for severe storms. Once we clear the fog, the sunshine will arrive, allowing temperatures to rise to near 90 degrees by early afternoon. During this period we will also be tracking the development of showers and thunderstorms which may become severe.
The challenge is the timing and coverage of this development. The main threats from these storms will be damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall. Currently, the schedule is between 2pm and 8pm, and we will make further adjustments to this Monday night into Tuesday morning. The most important thing is to pay attention to the weather.
