Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Indian mixed shooting pair Manu Bhaker and Sarabhot Singh for winning bronze at the Paris Olympics. He praised their dedication and perseverance, noting that this marked Barker's second consecutive medal in the sporting event.
Barker and Sarabjot Singh won bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. “Our shooters continue to do us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze Medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event at the #Olympics. Both of them showed great skill and teamwork. India couldn't be happier “For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal and demonstrates her usual excellence and dedication,” he said in a post on X.
President Droupadi Murmu also congratulated the shooters and said Barker had created history by becoming the first Indian female shooter to win two medals at the same Olympics. In fact, she is the first Indian since Independence to win two medals in a single Olympics.

Barker showed composure and Singh was the perfect foil as the pair made history by beating South Korea to win the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal. The pair defeated South Korea 16-10, giving the country their second medal at the quadrennial event.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also offered his congratulations, saying Barker's “incredible talent, hard work and dedication” had made India proud. He also reiterated that she is the first Indian to win two medals in the same Olympics.
