CHARLOTTE (Queen City News) – We are looking at a Precision Weather Alert day for this Tuesday with the possibility of scattered showers and storms this afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will start in the mid-70s, with scattered fog possible during the morning commute. As the morning fog clears we will see light breezes and partly cloudy skies. High temperatures will continue into low 90s, which will help create instability in the atmosphere.
Showers and storms are possible in our mountain counties around 5 PM, moving south into residential areas. Scattered storms are expected with scattered heavy rain, and the storms could bring damaging winds to the area.
We will have a marginal risk of severe weather today, with wind being the main concern. The storm will gradually weaken tonight, with lows dropping into the mid-70s overnight. Temperatures will begin to climb back into the mid 90s on Wednesday.
We're going to really crank up the heat in the second half of this week as highs climb into the 90s and it “feels like” temperatures are hitting triple digits again.
A cold front will push our temperatures back into the mid-90s through the weekend, with possible storms in the Carolinas. We will maintain hot and summery conditions through next Monday with a chance of afternoon storms.
Today: Partly cloudy and hot, with a chance of showers and storms! High: 91.
Tonight: Sunny to cloudy and warm. Low: 72.
