Happy Tuesday! This cool weather will continue for at least another day. But a slow warming trend is expected starting Wednesday (forecasters say it won't be a heat wave).
Cool weather is expected to continue this morning with lower clouds. Temperatures today will be in the mid-70s along the beaches and in the mid-80s along the inland coast.
In the valley, daytime highs will be in the 80s and lows in the 90s in the western Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys. For the Inland Empire, temperatures will reach the 90s, with highs reaching 104 degrees in the high desert and 110 degrees in the Coachella Valley. Gusty winds are expected along Highway 14 in the Antelope Canyon and adjacent foothills.
Air quality alerts remain in effect for the Coachella Valley, but that will change Tuesday around 11 p.m.
Looking ahead, monsoon moisture may bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the mountains and Antelope Valley into the weekend. Showers may drift west of the mountains. Increased humidity in the atmosphere may also lower the projected maximum temperature by a few degrees.
