In its latest press release, the Meteorological Department said that heavy rains are likely to occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 3-4 days. The monsoon is also likely to have an impact on Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and the states of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Delhi's main weather station Safdarjung recorded 1.6 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours till 8:30 am on Friday, the India Meteorological Department said.
The Himachal Pradesh Meteorological Department on Friday issued a “yellow” warning for heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning in remote areas of 10 remote districts of the state till August 6.
The IMD on Friday issued a “red alert” saying extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning will occur in nine districts of Bihar in the next 36 hours.
