The temple walls collapsed during a religious event.
Nine children were killed and many others injured when a wall collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Sagarshapur district on Sunday.
Officials said the incident took place between 8.30 am and 9 am during a religious function near a temple in Shahpur village, the seat of Rehli Assembly.
Sagar district commissioner Virendra Singh Rawat told the Press Trust of India news agency over phone that according to information received so far, nine 10 people were killed in the collapse of the wall at a religious event in Shapur. A child aged to 15 years old died and two others were injured.
Senior officials, including the district collector, have reached the spot.

CM Yadav announces financial assistance to relatives of deceased
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed grief over the loss of life of nine children in the wall collapse incident and announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.
“Today, I heard with sadness that nine innocent children died as a result of the collapse of a dilapidated house in Shahpur, Sagar District due to heavy rains. I have directed the district government to provide appropriate treatment to the injured children… The government will provide each family member of the deceased with Financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh is provided,” Yadav said.

The district administration has directed to provide proper treatment to the injured children and I pray God to grant peace to the souls of the deceased children.

Local BJP MP and former minister Gopal Bhargava told reporters that the 'Parthiv Shivling Nirman' (making Shivling out of clay) project was underway under a tent near the dilapidated house, a wall of The wall collapsed on the tent.
The children were crushed under tents and rubble, the BJP added.
Rewa city wall collapses, 4 children killed
Four children were killed and a woman and a child were injured on Saturday when a wall of an abandoned building collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district as they were returning home from school.
The incident took place near a private school within the jurisdiction of Garh police station, an official said.
Rewa district police superintendent Mahendra Singh Sikarwar told reporters that children from Sunrise Public School were on their way home when the wall of a nearby abandoned building collapsed on them.
