Baccha Baba Protests in Unique Way, Doing Haas Yoga for Three Years
Protesting the lack of development in villages in UP, Baccha baba practiced Haas yoga while standing on one leg for three years. Residents of the village are worried about Baba's health as he has vowed not to stop until his demands are met
Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a unique form of protest where a guru is engrossed in meditation to get his demands accepted. The guru was protesting against the lack of development in the village.
Popularly known as Bachcha Baba, the Guru is a resident of Gwarai village, located on the banks of the Yamuna river, about 20 km from Tundla in Firozabad. He told News 18 that his village and temple are far from the city. Public representatives would come and demand votes, but no public representatives or district officials came to see the deplorable conditions.
“There is no development in the village, there are no proper roads, no street lights, and no temples and ashrams have been restored. That is why I have been doing Hatha Yoga for the past three years,” he added.
There is no formal puka road in the village and the road leading to his temple is also in poor condition. There are many other problems faced by the rural masses but no public representatives take notice of these problems. That's why now he's been standing on one foot for three years until his demands are met.
Ran Singh Dhakare, a resident of the village, said the guru had been living in a temple outside the village for many years and worked hard for local development, charity and religious activities.
Bachcha Baba, angry at the lack of development in the area, adopted Hatha Yoga. He has been standing on one foot for three years.
