Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's commitment to working with Bangladesh to achieve the common goals of “peace, security and development” between the two countries.
Yunus, 84, was sworn in as head of Bangladesh's interim government following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Hasina resigned on Monday and fled to India in response to massive protests against her government over a controversial employment quota system.
Economist-turned-politician Yunus was named leader of the interim government on Tuesday.
