Any politician who supports a “net zero” agenda is working to increase gas prices. [some links added]
Every politician will claim this summer that they're working to lower gas prices because they know that's what voters want to hear.
But many politicians who support net-zero emissions by 2050 are working to raise gas prices.
For the United States to get close to “net-zero emissions” by 2050, it will need to nearly eliminate the use of gasoline.
With Americans freely choosing to use a lot of gasoline, the only way net-zero politicians can eliminate it is to make it unaffordable or illegal.
Low gasoline prices are completely incompatible with Net Zero.
The Biden-Harris administration knows that in pursuit of “net-zero emissions,” all fossil fuels, including gasoline, will need to become more expensive. That’s why the EPA has set the “social cost of carbon” to start at $190 per ton, which is equivalent to a $1.50 per gallon increase in the price of gasoline!
From day one, President Biden has openly supported destroying the fossil fuel industryFrom his 2019 campaign promise “I promise you we will stop using fossil fuels” to his 2021 executive order announcing that the United States will achieve “net-zero emissions across the economy” by 2050.
Unfortunately, gas prices are rising as Kamala Harris becomes more supportive of the 'net zero' agenda. In 2020 she supports Fracking ban would destroy 60% of U.S. oil production.
She also co-sponsored the Green New Deal that destroyed fossil fuels.
Of course, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, like all politicians, claim to support lower gas prices. but Because their real priority is the “net zero” agenda and they are actually doing everything they can to raise prices.
Here are 8 specific actions they took.
Biden Natural Gas Drilling Policy #1
Biden has been raising gasoline prices through a “whole-of-government” approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This requires reductions in oil investment, production, refining and transportation, all of which lead to higher gas prices.
Biden Gas Drilling Policy #2
Biden works to raise gas prices by expanding anti-fossil fuel ESG divestment movement. ESG caused a 50% drop in investment in oil and gas exploration from 2011 to 2021, causing prices to rise artificially. Biden is making it worse.
Biden Gas Gage Policy #3
Biden has been working to increase gas prices through the “climate disclosure rule”, An oil and gas investment cut that forces companies to trumpet anti-fossil fuel propaganda and commit to anti-fossil fuel programs—Plan to increase gas prices.
Biden Gas Drilling Policy #4
Biden has worked to increase gasoline prices by suspending oil and gas leasing on federal lands, discouraging oil and gas production and investment. When oil becomes more difficult to produce and invest in, gasoline becomes more expensive.
Biden Gas Drilling Policy #5
Biden has worked to increase gas prices by increasing royalties on new oil leases by 50%. This is the money the government gets from the industry on top of taxes. It discourages oil investment, meaning less production means higher gas prices.
Biden Gas Drilling Policy #6
Biden is raising gasoline prices by limiting oil and gas leases on nearly 50% of Alaska's vast oil reserves. This is a serious blow to Alaska's oil and gas industry. Less oil in Alaska means higher gas prices.
Biden Gas Plane Policy #7
Biden has been raising gasoline prices by threatening to halt oil and gas mergers. Mergers can increase efficiency, favor domestic production and lower prices. Blocking the merger would raise oil prices in the long term, which means higher gas prices.
Biden Gas Plane Policy #8
Biden raised gas prices by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline. This prevents Canada from taking full advantage of its vast oil reserves, which means reduced global supplies and higher oil and gasoline prices.
Joe Biden should come clean to the American people and make it clear that his agenda is to raise gas prices—As Obama infamously admitted, “electricity prices are bound to skyrocket” under his energy plan.
Or he should apologize and embrace energy freedom.
