Dilip Khedkar, father of former IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar, has been accused of threatening and obstructing a Pune district civil servant from discharging his duties.
The case was registered at the Bund Garden police station on a complaint lodged by a Tehsildar-level police officer of the Pune District Collectorate.
Police have registered a case against Dilip Khedkar, father of former IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar, for threatening and obstructing a public servant in Pune district from discharging his duties, officials said on Friday .
The case was registered at the Bund Garden police station based on a complaint lodged by a Tehsildar-rank police officer of Pune District Collectorate, they said.
“The complaint alleges that during Puja Khedkar's tenure as assistant collector, Dilip Khedkar allegedly used threatening language against tehsildar Dipak Akade and asked him to allocate a cabin to his daughter even though he had no authority to interfere in administrative functions,” an official said.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently canceled Puja Khedkar's selection and permanently barred her from appearing in all future examinations and selections. Her whereabouts are currently unknown after an FIR was registered in Delhi as she was accused of “distorting information” while applying for the 2022 UPSC Civil Services Examination.
The 2023-batch officer was accused of abusing her power and privileges by demanding benefits and facilities to which she was not entitled while undergoing training at the Pune district collectorate.
“After receiving a complaint from the district administration, we registered a case against Dilip Khedkar under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of official duties), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” ” said a senior official of Pune police.
The incident occurred in June this year.
Retired government official Dilip Khedkar has also been booked in a criminal intimidation case filed by the Paud police and his wife Manorama has been accused of murdering people in Mur over a land dispute He attacked others with a gun in the Mulshi area.
Dilip Khedkar was granted anticipatory bail in the case, while his wife Manorama was arrested by the Pune rural police and was recently released on bail by the court.
