Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday slammed the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP-JD(S)) for holding a 'Mysuru Chalo' march over the alleged land scam, saying their leaders were There is no moral right to question him. He asked people to throw out the 'Manuwadi'.
A day before the climax of the Chalo campaign in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah showed his strength by lashing out at the opposition in his hometown. Marches from Bengaluru to Mysuru have been organized to demand the chief minister's resignation after his wife Parvati was accused of benefiting from the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.
The opposition claimed that Siddaramaiah's wife was given an alternative plot in an upscale area to oppose the “acquisition” of 3.40 acres of land in a remote area of the city.
Addressing a massive 'Janandolana' meeting at the Maharaja University campus, rebutting the opposition charges and walking march, Siddaramaiah said: “August 9 happens to be the anniversary of the historic Quit India Movement anniversary, the movement aims to drive the British out of India “Today we must drive out the communal, caste and feudal people. We must oppose and condemn the Manuwadi, casteist and feudal people who cannot tolerate backward and exploited people. feudal lords. Hence, this incident (Janandolana). He claimed that former Congress chief ministers Devaraj Urs, S Bangarappa and Veerappa Moily Veerapa Moily) was forced to step down because she was from a backward community.
The chief minister also alleged that former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his son and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy had reneged on their 2006 promise to run the Congress-JD(S) coalition government under former CM N Dharam Singh and made peace with the party. “The BJP cooperated to oust him from power.
Siddaramaiah said he said the BJP and JD(S) had no moral right to question him as their leaders were involved in the scam.
The chief minister sought to know what moral right the leader of opposition in the Karnataka Assembly R Ashoka, former chief minister BS Yediyurappa, his son and BJP chief BY Vijayendra and Kumaraswamy have to demand his resignation.
“If Yeddyurappa has any disgrace, he should quit politics. He is 82 years old. He is an accused in the POCSO Act case in which a chargesheet has been filed. He has asked me to resign before August 10. Did he only do one or two scams? He was caught in 18 to 20 scams,” Siddaramaiah said.
The chief minister claimed that Vijayendra had also been caught in several scams and reminded that the BJP's Vijayapura Mulla Yatnar had also said that Vijayendra had robbed hundreds of crores of rupees.
“Kumraswamy, what moral rights do you have? Have you forgotten the Jantakal mining case? You gave renewal to 20 companies. Do you have the shame to ask me to resign?” Siddaramaiah asked.
He also lashed out at Ashoka, saying that as chairman of the Land Grant Commission, he gifted 2,200 acres of land to BM Kaval in Bengaluru.
“These people must respond now. I never pursued politics of hatred and vendetta. If I had been that way, this situation would never have arisen. They would have gone to jail,” the chief minister charged.
Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre, Kumaraswamy, Yediyurappa, Vijayendra and Ashoka were involved in a conspiracy to oust his chief Ministerial duties.
He called the complainant of the MUDA scam, TJ Abraham, a person with no credibility.
“Who is this Abraham? The SC imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh (it had fined him in the past). Based on a complaint by KAS officer Dr Sudha, charges have been filed against him alleging that he was blackmailing her,” the chief minister said.
The charges against Abraham were filed on August 5, 10 days after the governor issued a show-cause notice to Siddaramaiah asking him why his prosecution in the MUDA scam should not be approved.
In a show of strength by the Congress party in support of Siddaramaiah, all senior party officials in Karnataka participated, including Karnataka general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala; State Congress president and deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar, ministers and MLAs supported the CM.
Shivakumar said in his speech that the opposition dreams of overthrowing the chief minister of Karnataka within 10 days “but this will not be possible for them in the next ten years”.
“Kumalaswamy claims to be a 'clean Swamy' but officials told me that he has 50 land non-designated cases against him. I will expose his corruption. The Lokayukta has written to the Governor in this regard . Therefore, Kumaraswamy defected to the BJP,” the DCM said.
Shivakumar lashed out at Vijayendra, asking him to tell the people why his father Yeddyurappa resigned as chief minister twice.
“When you come to Mysore, you will tell people why you transferred money from Lakshmi Vilas Bank to Dubai. Time will decide who has to resign,” the DCM said.
The BJP has tried to destabilize many governments in the past through Operation Lotus, but the party should know that the British will not be able to destabilize the Congress party for 200 years; he quipped, how can the BJP depose it now?
