The Congress on Saturday expressed concern over reports of targeted attacks on ethnic minorities and their places of worship in Bangladesh and hoped that the interim government of Bangladesh would take strong measures to ensure that they continue to live in an atmosphere of security, dignity and harmony.
Bangladesh's interim leader Muhammad Yunus has condemned attacks on minority communities in the violence-plagued country, calling them “outrageous” and urging young people to protect all Hindu, Christian and Buddhist families from harm.

While extending his best wishes to Yunus on Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed hope for an early return to normalcy and stressed on ensuring the safety of the country's Hindu and other minority communities.
