A mobile phone with around two hours of footage recorded inside a bin was found in the women's washroom of a popular coffee shop in Bengaluru.
The incident took place at the Third Wave coffee shop in the city's Bell Road, where a staff member was charged after allegedly hiding a mobile phone in the women's toilet.
An Instagram user named “Gangs Of Cinepur” posted a story in which one user described the shocking incident.
“I was at the Third Wave Coffee branch in Bangalore…a lady found a mobile phone in the washroom, hidden in a dustbin, and recorded videos for about 2 hours facing the toilet seat. It was on airplane mode, so No sound will be made,” the story reads.
The user further mentioned that the phone was carefully hidden with only the camera exposed.
“The phone was carefully hidden in a bin bag with a hole punched in it, leaving only the camera exposed. It was quickly discovered that the phone belonged to one of the men who worked there. The police were called and they quickly arrived Arrived and action is being taken,” it added.
The user also urged people to be vigilant and take extra care when using restrooms in public places.
“It was so horrific to witness. From now on, I will be wary of any restroom I use, no matter how famous the chain cafe or restaurant. I ask everyone to do the same. This is disgusting,” the story read.
After discovering the phone, the woman alerted cafe staff, who confirmed the device belonged to one of their employees. After the incident, the police immediately reported it and the police also rushed to the scene. The authorities are currently investigating the matter and taking appropriate action, HT reported.

Police confirmed that the accused has been arrested under the Information Technology Act. The man was in his early twenties and hailed from Bhadravati in Karnataka.
