In Theni district of Tamil Nadu, the Loudspeaker Owners Association recently organized a music competition that attracted a large number of microphone operators to showcase their technical skills and expertise in sound management.
The two-day event marks the 11th annual music competition festival organized by Uthamapalayam Speaker Owners Association at Kambam in Theni district. The festival has become a highly anticipated event in the region, celebrating the technical prowess of the audio and sound industry.
The competition was held in an open area on Manikati Road, Kabam, providing a spacious venue for the participants and spectators. Over 100 loudspeaker owners and microphone operators participated in the event, not only from Theni district but also from nearby districts like Madurai and Dindigul. Each participant has the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to set up and operate speakers designed to achieve optimal sound quality in terms of clarity, volume and freedom from distortion.
A unique feature of this competition is that only horn speakers are allowed. This requirement adds an additional challenge, as these types of speakers are known for their specific sound projection characteristics, which require skilled handling to avoid distortion while maintaining clarity. Operators are judged on their ability to play songs with precision, ensuring the sound is accurate and pleasing to the ear.
The best operators are able to produce the clearest and most accurate sound without any distortion and are considered the top performers in the competition. These individuals received the bonus in recognition of their exceptional skills and expertise in sound management.
The music competition festival attracts large and enthusiastic audiences from Kabam and surrounding areas. The event is not only a showcase of technical talent but also a celebration of the local community, with large crowds coming together to enjoy and appreciate the high quality sound and festive atmosphere.
