Net Zero Watch has just released its annual review of the state of BBC climate reporting.
The author, climate and energy writer Paul Homewood, has a wealth of material to choose from, and his paper outlines more than 30 of the most egregious distortions of the truth, describing hot weather in Spain, witnessing England's Rare birds, potholes in the road.
Paul Homewood said:
The BBC produces so many ridiculous climate stories that the only difficulty is deciding what to remove from the reporting.
Net Zero Watch director Andrew Mountford said:
If the BBC wants to reverse the ongoing decline in its ratings and its reputation as a reliable source of news, it must start taking climate and energy issues seriously. Hiring rabid environmentalist journalists and then letting them go wild will result in coverage that is superficial at best and misleading at worst. Paul Homewood's report shows just how bad the situation has become.
