Ahead of Independence Day, Kashmir is in a festive mood with many 'Tiranga' rallies organized and the tricolor flag flying proudly on major buildings.
Officials said the rallies are being held in the valley under the Centre's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement.
One such rally was held by the Central Reserve Police Force along the famous Dal Lake on Wednesday morning.
Officials said the rally, organized by Srinagar unit CRPF, started from SKICC and ended at Ghat No. 13, Main Road.
They said the 3-km Tiranga Walk Marathon witnessed enthusiastic participation by members of the force, including Mahila personnel from all battalions of the CRPF in Srinagar district.

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) also organizes the Tiranga Bike Rally in the Batamalu area of the city.
Rallies were also held in Ganderbal, Baramulla, Kupwara and Shopian districts.
Officials said famous historical monuments and monuments such as the Sun Temple of Matan in the Matan area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district were illuminated with tri-coloured lights.
Security has been stepped up in the Kashmir Valley to ensure incident-free Independence Day celebrations with multi-layered security nets in place at the main event venue, which will be chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
