Aaj Ka Panchang, August 16, 2024: Four festivals will be celebrated today on Friday – Varalakshmi Vrat, Simha Sankranti, Shravana Putrada Ekadashi and Damodara Dwadash.
AAJ KA PANCHANG, August 16, 2024: The Ekadashi Tithi and Dwadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha are said to be held on Friday, August 16, reports Drik Panchang. Both Shukla Ekadashi and Shukla Dwadashi are considered auspicious to start important activities like homa/homam/havana/havanam/yagna/yagnam. Moreover, they are all within the time frame of Shubh Muhurta.
On this day, devotees celebrate four important festivals: Varalakshmi Vrat, Simha Sankranti, Shravana Putrada Ekadashi and Damodara Dwadashi. Tithis and auspicious and inauspicious timing are of utmost importance while hosting any event.
August 16 sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset
The sun is expected to rise at 5:51 a.m. and set at 6:59 p.m. Meanwhile, the moonrise is expected to be at 4:32 pm on August 17, and the moonset is at 2:42 am.
Details of TITHI, NAKSHATRA and Rashi on August 16
Ekadashi Tithi is likely to continue till 9:39 am, after which it will be changed to Dwadashi Tithi. The favorable Mula Nakshatra will remain valid till 12:44 pm, followed by the Purva Ashadha Nakshatra. According to Drik Panchang, the moon will be in Dhanu Rashi (Sagittarius). Meanwhile, the Sun is expected to stay in Karka Rashi (Cancer) until 7:54 pm and then transition to Simha Rashi (Leo).
Shubh Muhurat on August 16
Brahma Muhurta may occur from 4:24 to 5:08 am, followed by Vijaya Muhurta from 2:36 to 3:29 pm. Pratah Sandhya Muhurta will be held from 4:46 am to 5:51 am. Sayahna Sandhya Muhurta is scheduled to take place between 6:59 pm and 8:04 pm. Nishita Muhurta is scheduled to take place on August 17 from 12:04 to 12:47 pm.
August 16 Asub Muhurat
It is said that Rahu Kalam Muhurta is held from 10:47 am to 12:25 pm, Yamaganda Muhurta is held from 10:47 am to 12:25 pm, Yamaganda Muhurta is held from 3:42 to 5:21 pm, Gulikai Kalam Muhurta is held from 3:42 to 5:21 pm Hours are 7:29 am to 9:08 am. Dur Muhurtam is planned in two phases: 8:29 am to 9:21 am and 12:51 pm to 1:44 pm. It is said that Baana Muhurta is held in Agni till 7:54 pm. Meanwhile, Bhadra is expected to be held from 5:51 am to 9:39 am.
