The toy train service at Narendra Narayan Park in Cooch Behar was suspended for a long time.
Narendra Narayan Park is a botanical garden located in the town of Cooch Behar, West Bengal. The park was established in 1894 and named after Shri Narendra Narayan, the ruler of the princely state of Cooch Behar. It is one of the traditional parks that has existed since royal times and therefore attracts a large number of tourists. To ensure greater footfall, toy train services have been resumed in the park for entertainment. The toy train service at Narendra Narayan Park in Cooch Behar was suspended for a long time. Now, services have been restored again to attract tourists. Usually during Durga Puja, there are many tourists here in the park. Train service will make it another attraction.
Jaydev Sarkar, a visitor to the park, told Local18: “This is the only park in the area that has a toy train service. There used to be a toy train in the open eco-park, but it has not been used for a long time. Therefore, children and Adults come to Narendra Narayan Park to have fun and ride on the toy train. What’s even more attractive is that kids love to ride on the train and it’s only 20 rupees per person and the whole experience is very enjoyable.
Kanu Chaudhary and Sangeeta Das, two other tourists visiting the park, said the old park in the area remains a centerpiece for tourists. It is located in the very center of the town in the district. They further claimed that the park provides immense fun and entertainment to children due to the resumption of toy train services. They believe that park authorities should continue to provide this service in the near future as well.
Park ranger Abhijit Nag said the toy train service has been stopped as some parts of the train were damaged and needed to be repaired. Services have been resumed due to the upcoming Durga Puja.
