A special court here found a man guilty of raping his minor stepdaughter about five years ago and sentenced him to 20 years in jail and fined him Rs 50,000.
Additional District Government Counsel (ADGC) Devesh Chandra Tripathi said on Sunday that the court of Special Judge (POCSO Act) Parul Verma sentenced the guilty stepfather Rakesh to twenty years' imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000.
Tripathi said that the complainant alleged in the complaint submitted to the police that on the evening of September 9, 2019, her husband Rakesh raped the 10-year-old girl late at night while in a drunken state.
As she began screaming in pain, the plaintiff turned on the light and saw her husband allegedly trying to strangle the girl with a gas pipe.
The girl said her stepfather sexually abused her for three years. Based on the report, the police have registered a case with the relevant departments and will file a case with the court after completing the investigation.
