Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the daughter of former leader Thaksin Shinawatra, became Thailand's prime minister on Sunday after receiving royal endorsement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Baidontham Shinawatra on his assumption of office as Thailand's prime minister and said he looked forward to working with her to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the daughter of former leader Thaksin Shinawatra, took office as Thailand's prime minister on Sunday after receiving a letter of royal endorsement, two days after a court ordered his removal. And the parliament elected her Prime Minister.

“Looking forward to working with you to further strengthen bilateral relations between India and Thailand that are built on the solid foundation of civilizations, cultures and connections between peoples,” he said.
Paetongtarn is the third Shinawatra to hold the position, following her father and aunt Yingluck Shinawatra.
