Behari police station officer-in-charge Arun Pandey said the man allegedly raped the 16-year-old girl after he found her alone at home.
Police arrested a 69-year-old man on suspicion of raping a teenage girl in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district, an official said on Sunday.
He said the incident took place within the limits of Beohari police station on August 14 and was reported to the police the next day.

The official added that the accused was arrested on August 16 and booked under relevant sections of the BNS and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
