The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday (August 21) said authorities should provide “appropriate” security cover at the residence of Dr Sandip Ghosh. He is being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor.
The order came after his family approached the court, saying they felt unsafe in their house as many people had gathered outside.
The body of the female doctor was found in the seminar hall of the medical institution on August 9. Ghosh resigned two days later. She has been questioned by CBI detectives many times. The agency now wants to give him a polygraph test.
Police have asked Ghosh a variety of questions over the past few days, including details of his role after learning of the doctor's death, who he subsequently contacted and why he allegedly made his parents wait nearly three hours to see him. to her body. He was also asked about the authorization to renovate rooms near the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital after the body was found.
Last week, on the directions of the Calcutta High Court, India's Central Bureau of Investigation took over the investigation into the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor from the Kolkata police.
