The official said that a case has been registered against the accused Firoz, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Beliefs Act and the POCSO Act and charged with rape.

A 24-year-old man was booked on Wednesday for allegedly raping a teenager from another community and forcing her to convert, police said.
They said the accused Firoz has been arrested.

According to environment police officer Abhishek Singh, the girl, a resident of a village in the police station area, claimed that on August 19, when she was preparing to go to the wild to participate in the call of nature, the accused raped her and forced her to proselytize.
The official said the accused Firoz, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, has been booked for rape under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Beliefs Act, POCSO Act.
The accused has been arrested, he added.
